Biography

Upon graduating from The Baptist University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor of Arts degree in music (specializing in music education and singing), Manchi Ng started to focus on the Orff-Schulwerk Method. She went on to complete the San Francisco Orff Course Level III and the Australian National Council of Orff Schulwerk Level II, enabling her to become a trainer for the sHong Kong Orff Schulwerk Association (HOSA) teacher training programme. She now serves as Elementary Music Consultant for the Lina Foundation.

Besides, Manchi is also the Programme Director at the Art Rhapsody Orff Education Center, which organizes various large-scale children’s performances, as well as music activities for many schools and institutions. Over the years, she has provided an array of teacher training courses, music training courses, and children’s music programmes for over a hundred primary schools and kindergartens. Additionally, she serves as the co-director of the Hong Kong Children’s Orff Band, for which she has composed several nursery rhymes and songs.

Manchi’s other teaching experience includes working with the Hong Kong Children’s Choir in the Intelligence, Emotional Quotient, and Creativity Programme (IED Programme), as well as teaching in the Extension and Continuing Education for Life (EXCEL) programme offered by the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts and the Junior SoundFest organized by Par Haw Music Foundation.

Manchi has two children and possesses a deep understanding of how children learn music. She has also been actively involved in various music teaching workshops and training courses, both locally and overseas, including those focusing on Orff and Dalcroze methodologies led by internationally renowned practitioners.

Biography

Lina Foundation’s Elementary Music Consultant, Manchi Ng, graduated from Hong Kong Baptist University, majoring in music education and vocal studies. After graduation, she specialized in Orff Schulwerk pedagogy, completing the San Francisco Orff Course Level III in the United States and the Australian National Council of Orff Schulwerk Level II in Australia. She has been an instructor for the Hong Kong Orff Schulwerk Association (HOSA) teacher training program for many years.

Currently, Ms. Ng serves as the Program Director of the Orff Music Education Center, where she oversees large-scale children’s music performances, organizes music activities for various schools and institutions, and has provided music training courses and children’s music programs to over a hundred primary schools and kindergartens. Additionally, she is also the Co-Director of the Hong Kong Children’s Orff Orchestra, for which she has composed numerous children’s songs and nursery rhymes.

Beyond her primary roles, Ms. Ng has also taught children’s music classes in the Hong Kong Children’s Choir “Quality Potential Development Program” and at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) Extension and Continuing Education for Life (EXCEL) program.

As a mother of two, she has a deep understanding of how children learn music and actively participates in various music education workshops both locally and internationally.
